Over Christmas of 2004, Les and two friends traveled to Chile to climb Cerro Tupungato (6570m, or 21,555 feet), one of the highest peaks in the Andes. After a warm up climb on El Plomo (17,795 feet), the team spent two weeks in a successful climb of Tupungato.
